Athletics play an important role in shaping the lives of young people by teaching them to think and react quickly, develop social skills and appreciate their bodies as gifts from God.
In 2003, Bethesda Christian Schools joined the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA), allowing students to receive a quality Christian education and also participate in the highest level of athletic competition afforded by schools in the state of Indiana.
Bethesda offers competitive sports for students in grades 5 through 12, with a number of varsity sports for both young men and women at the high school level. These teams are led by experienced, well-trained coaches who push athletics to achieve their best, but also encourage them to have fun. In addition, Bethesda offers top-notch sports facilities including a new gymnasium large enough for two full-length basketball courts and bleacher seating for 1,000. The outdoor sports complex includes a lighted soccer field and a grass infield baseball field.
School spirit is important to young people and this is especially evident in our students” attendance at athletic events. Our school spirit also extends to parents who, through booster clubs, have helped lead our teams to Christian school state and national championships. In 1991, Bethesda”s varsity boy”s basketball team won the AACS National Championship.
